We use a form of service known as Common Worship. This is the primary worship and service book for the Church of England. Most of the material is in contemporary language. We follow the church calendar, marking major festivals and seasons throughout the year. Hymns and songs are sung to organ accompaniment. There is a play area for small children at the back of the church.
There has been a worshipping community at St Paul’s since the 19th century. Close to the town centre, the area is now a conservation area and the church with its adjoining hall sits in tree lined grounds with offices, businesses and private homes around it. You can read about the history and architecture of the church here.
There is a well equipped kitchen and multi-purpose parish halls which are well used for church, community and charity events. For more information about hiring the halls at St Paul's, please click here
There is some car parking at the church and metered on-street parking nearby (free on Sundays)
