DAVE'S PODCASTS OF THE WEEK
Truth For Life - The Bible-Teaching Ministry of Alistair Begg https://www.truthforlife.org/
Alistaire Begg is a Scottish minister living in the USA. For many years he was the senior pastor at Parkside Church, Cleveland, Ohio, and although he retired from his church role last autumn, his preaching and writing ministry continue to be a blessing to many people across the world.
This site (and associated mobile phone app) is an Aladdin’s Cave of sermons, articles and helpful tools to help us grow in our faith. Judy and I read Alistair’s daily devotions together, but the site holds a lot more to build us up and equip us for service. Why not take some time over a cup of tea to explore!

Listening to the Bible in a year.
If you have never read the Bible the whole way through and are rather daunted by the prospect, perhaps having it read to you might be the way to go. Several podcasts are available, but here are two to try out. (There would be a bit of catching up to do, but it would be well worth the effort!!)

Last week I listened to a 40-minute or so interview with singer-songwriter Matt Redmond, that you can find here or wherever you listen to your podcasts. In it he talks about his life, his very difficult childhood and the way that his faith in Jesus brought meaning and joy even in the midst of suffering. If you like his music (he wrote 10,000 reasons amongst many others), or you share some of those experiences, take a listen to this and be encouraged. Podcast on the persecuted church. Run by Open Doors Australia, it’s currently working through the countries on their Watch List- the most dangerous places to be a Christian. It’s chatty and informal in style but packed with heart-breaking accounts of what it means to follow Jesus in places where severe persecution is the norm. Listen, and you’ll have many more reasons to pray and to be thankful for the freedoms we have here in the UK. You can find the link here or wherever you listen to your podcasts.
