Lunch With God: Every Friday in Town Centre
We have started a weekly town centre outreach. The aim is to give short (5-10 minute) Bible talks every 20 minutes from 12:30pm to 1:30pm, with opportunities for those listening to ask questions and take a Bible or a gospel away to find out more. We’ll be setting up in Golden Lion Square.
Please pray for people to gather and engage, and for God’s Spirit to do God’s work through God’s Word. I’d also love a few volunteers to come along- some to create a crowd and a couple of others to be handing out leaflets to passers-by in the main pedestrian precinct.
If things go well, we’ll move into St Paul’s Hall for the winter season, where we can offer free tea and coffee and a warm space for folks to enjoy their own lunch whilst feeding on God’s Word.

Open Afternoon: Architecture and Mindfulness
On the remote Siula Grande in Peru in June 1985, mountaineer Simon Yates found himself in a desperately unenviable position. He was slowly being pulled off the mountain face by his injured partner, Joe Simpson, dangling on the rope 50m below. His decision to cut the rope saved both their lives in the epic of survival that followed. With the publication of the book ‘Touching the Void’ and the later film and stage play, both men became household names.
It was an experience that could put many off the sport of mountaineering – but not Simon. Over 40 years later he is still an active exploratory climber and guide making several expeditions to the mountains each year. From the Arctic to the Antarctic, Alaska to Central Asia there is hardly a significant range he has not visited.
Come along a witness Simon’s tireless journey from that mountain in Peru to some of the remotest on the planet and share with him the drama, excitement and beauty of modern lightweight alpinism. Told with wit, dry humour and lavishly illustrated with images and video collected on his great climbs.
‘Simon is a totally engaging speaker, who both entertains and inspires’
Denbury Folk
-->Over the last 2-3 years, we have been putting on folk concerts to make use of the amazing acoustics in our church (single aisle, barrel roof).
We call them "Sunday Afternoon Folk", and they are a collaboration between Denbury Folk group and the PCC. We have a talent spotter who knows the business and has brought us some remarkable musicians and singers. And we have a loyal and growing group of regular attendees, who have come to appreciate the standard of musicianship on offer, the warm welcome and the interval cake! The word is spreading amongst the artists too. Our final concert of 2025 features Sean Lakeman and Kathryn Roberts
- a considerable coup for a small venue - who are coming on the recommendation of Sean's Dad!
